WHITE BEAR DAUGHTER

Jeanie got the name when she went on a medicine walk with a group of 8 women all studying in a 3 year shamanic practitioner group. They went on a medicine walk in the Sequoias before the snow had melted. Each had to spend a 24 hour period alone and in silence. They could move out on to the land in private ceremony or rest and write inside. Each woman met privately with the shaman leading the medicine walk before the 24 hour period.
The animal spirit that came to her during the meeting with the shaman was the whale. The shaman told her to dig deeply when alone on the snowy land. So, the question she took to the land was “What lies at the bottom of sorrow?”. Spirits shape-shifted around her. What emerged was a very long poem with the same title. She shared it with the group. The shaman then said her spirit guides told her to give me the name White Bear Daughter.
